My Christmas Wishes
To all my DEMOCRAT FRIENDS:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2010, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wish-ee.
To all my REPUBLICAN FRIENDS:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The Reverend Al Sharpton held a press conference today to blast Tiger Woods for the lack of diversity among his mistresses. Sharpton claims that the lack of African-American women among Woods’ harem will have a negative affect on the black community -- specifically young black girls.
“Why is it that a man who calls himself black can’t bring himself to cheat on his wife with a black woman?” said Sharpton, speaking to a group of supporters in Harlem. “What does it say to young black girls everywhere when you pass them over? Shame on you, Tiger Woods. What would your daddy say?”
Sharpton, who has long championed taking black women as mistresses, said that today’s black athletes need to stop neglecting black women when it comes to extramarital affairs; and should follow the examples of positive black role models such as Jesse Jackson and Martin Luther King, Jr., both of whom cheated on their wives with black women.
Sharpton also stressed that cheating with African-American women would help the black community financially by giving black girls the chance to sell their stories to tabloids and gossip magazines.
Added Sharpton, “I’m not asking you to not cheat on your wives, I’m just asking you to give back to your own community.”

Here are some things I've learned from men who have practiced good harem etiquette.
It's not clever to provoke a woman's jealousy or insecurity. Flattering though it may be to a man's ego, her damaged vanity can brew silently and turn into a very effective form of hatred that will come back to bite you. A man who uses a woman's sexual jealousy to reassure himself doesn't belong in a harem. If you enjoy feeling clever, take some pride in preventing jealousy by making each woman you're involved with feel uniquely attractive. Stay on message.
Words mean things.
It seems like a tedious, never-ending task…but make the Lefties do it; make them define and refinetheir terms. It’s obnoxious, but play dumb, as if you truly don’t know what they’re talking about. It’ll drive them nuts…but it will force them out of the clouds, it will force them to get specific. And clarity is a good thing.
It is my firm belief that if we bring the Left out of the generalized fog of euphemism, innuendo and non-specificity, and force them to clearly illuminate their positions…the voters will reject them. So many Americans right now are wishing they’d pursued this line of inquiry last year. “What do you mean by ‘hope and change’? Hope for what, specifically? And you want to change this country? What kind of change …specifically?”
The words we use are important. Words can clarify and elucidate. Or they can just as easily distort and obfuscate. To seek the former is to come out into the bright warm sunlight. And to flush out the latter is to send the socialist cockroaches scurrying for cover.

If the red shirt thing is new to you, read below how it went for a man..
Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together..
After we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home.
No, he responded.
Heading out I asked?
No. I'm escorting a soldier home.
Going to pick him up?
No. He is with me right now. He was killed in Iraq , I'm taking him home to his family.
The realization of what he had been asked to do hit me like a punch to the gut.. It was an honor for him. He told me that, although he didn't know the soldier, he had delivered the news of his passing to the soldier's family and felt as if he knew them after many conversations in so few days.
I turned back to him, extended my hand, and said, Thank you Thank you for doing what you do so my family and I can do what we do.
Upon landing in Chicago the pilot stopped short of the gate and made the following announcement over the intercom.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to note that we have had the honor of having Sergeant Steeley of the United States Marine Corps join us on this flight He is escorting a fallen comrade back home to his family. I ask that you please remain in your seats when we open the forward door to allow Sergeant Steeley to deplane and receive his fellow soldier. We will then turn off the seat belt sign."
Without a sound, all went as requested.. I noticed the sergeant saluting the casket as it was brought off the plane, and his action made me realize that I am proud to be an American.
So here's a public Thank You to our military Men and Women for what you do so we can live the way we do.
Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority." We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.
Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that ... Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women a far, will wear something red.
By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.
The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is. "We need your support and your prayers." Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something red every Friday.
IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SPREAD THIS IDEA ACROSS AMERICA.

Dr. Merrill Matthews of the Institute for Policy Innovation says yes, but for most Americans it’s a long commute.
One goal of President Obama’s stimulus bill was to create environmentally friendly “green jobs.”
And it’s done just that. The Washington Times reports that 11 U.S. wind farms have bought nearly 1,000 electricity-producing wind turbines, creating about 4,500 jobs, uh, oversees.
See, nearly 700 of those turbines were bought from China.
Now a new American-Chinese joint venture just announced it plans to buy nearly 250 Chinese-made turbines. That venture wants 30 percent of its $1.5 billion in funding from the stimulus money.
So if you’ve been looking for work for a while, you need to know that taxpayer-financed stimulus money is creating jobs.
And you might even be able to get one of them. Just make sure you like Chinese food.
Free Minds And Free Markets - By Peter Schwartz
"A free mind and a free market are corollaries," Ayn Rand writes. What is the full meaning of a free mind? Why does force negate a conceptual consciousness? And what is the resulting connection between the value of reason and the value of capitalism?
This lecture presents the underpinnings of individual freedom—in theory and in practice. It examines the origins of the concept "force" and shows how the concept is applicable only to volitional beings. It shows why political freedom is necessary, and possible, only because man has free will. Relating these points to such developments as evolutionary psychology and behavioral economics, Mr. Schwartz further explains how our culture's view of man as a deterministic entity leads inexorably to demands for more government controls and regulations.

Are the Climate Skeptics Right?
I got an email this week from an old high school buddy. I haven't seen him in years, but after he left Pacifica High School a year ahead of me he went off to Princeton and then to UC San Diego, where he got his doctorate in earth sciences. For the last 20 years he's been a geology professor at Yale University. Smart guy.
His name is Jeffrey Park, and he wanted to alert me to his latest paper, published Wednesday in Geophysical Research Letters. The subject of his paper is atmospheric CO2, which, as we all know, is the major greenhouse gas that drives global warming. But that's in the long term. In the short term, it's the other way around: Changes in temperature drive changes in the amount of CO2. The strength of this change was last calculated 20 years ago, so Jeff decided it was time for an update.
His results were grim: In the past there used to be a five-month lag between short-term temperature changes and the resulting changes in CO2 levels. Today it's at least 15 months. So what is it that's keeping CO2 in the atmosphere so long these days? In the dry language of science, his paper explains: "Our hypothesis implies that human activities have lately outpaced the ocean's capacity for absorbing carbon."
Here's the less technical version: "Think of the oceans like soda," he says. "Warm cola holds less fizz. The same thing happens as the oceans warm up." By itself, that's unsurprising, but the magnitude of the change was much bigger than he expected. Like a lot of other recent results, it suggests, ironically, that climate skeptics are right: Our models of climate change really are wrong. Unfortunately, they're wrong in the wrong direction. It's not that global warming isn't happening, it's that it's happening even faster than anyone ever imagined.
